“inreach and outreach go together”

One of the teachings that drew me to Schulweis was the following quotation: “In order to have outreach, you have to have inreach.”  He makes a very convincing case that inreach and outreach go together.  Those who are already involved in Jewish life can best learn about the spirit and content of Judaism by teaching others and by welcoming them into their homes.  And outreach will only be truly effective if it comes from deep within an understanding mind and an open heart.
